Call for Oral Talks

Participants interested in presenting at the PAOC are invited to submit an abstract for a talk using the form below.

Oral presentations are arranged around a series of themed symposia. Please use the dropdown menu on the form below to select the most appropriate symposium for your talk.  If your oral presentation does not fit any of the symposia, please choose ‘Other’ and we will group talks into appropriate sessions.

All abstracts will undergo peer review by the PAOC Scientific Committee and symposium leaders and may be accepted for presentation either as an oral presentation, or a poster.

The PAOC committee will be looking for funding to help support attendance of African nationals working in institutions in Africa, who do not have all the funding to attend. It is unlikely we will be able to support the whole cost. We may be able to provide limited financial support for delegates from Least Developed or Lower Middle Income countries. Please indicate if you would like to be considered for such support should funding become available. We will consider a shortlist of potential candidates in April and get back to you. At the congress, a prize will be awarded to the best student talk.

Talks will only be accepted formally after the PAOC registration fee has been paid, please Click HERE for registration information. For those that need to apply for funding and need proof of having submitted a talk, we can offer a letter giving proof that the talk has been submitted and is under consideration, or given provisional acceptance subject to payment of the registration fee.

Oral presentations will have a total of 15 minutes for presentation, which includes 12 minutes for the talk + 3 minutes for discussion.

We are using a specific format for abstracts. Please see the guidelines HERE for completing the form. Abstracts not submitted in the required format will be returned.
