7. MALARIA AND YELLOW FEVER

Malaria does occur in the Victoria Falls region of Zimbabwe so it is advisable to take precautions to avoid contracting the disease.

Minimize mosquito bites by covering up with clothing such as long sleeves and long trousers especially after sunset, using insect repellents on exposed skin and, when necessary, sleeping under a mosquito net.

Check with your doctor or nurse about suitable antimalarial tablets.

If you have been traveling in an area where Malaria occurs, and develop a fever seek medical attention promptly.

Yellow Fever is not prevalent in the area, however, if you enter Zambia – which is listed as Yellow Fever Country – you will need a Yellow Fever Certificate when returning to South Africa .
